Course Selection, Summer Activities, and Extracurricular Advice
Do I need four years of foreign language? Which is better, a dual credit class or an AP? Is the IB Diploma worth the work? What are the best activities for my future major? We'll help you answer all these questions and more throughout your time in high school -- with an eye toward college strategy as well as a well-rounded and rigorous high school experience that leaves you with a resume to be proud of.
Test Preparation
Whether your best test turns out to be the SAT or ACT, we offer strategy-based tutoring that'll help you achieve your highest score. Our students average 150 points of SAT and 4.5 points of ACT improvement over the course of our tutoring together.
Career and Majors Exploration
Many students don't know what they want to major in or what field they'll work in, and that's normal! Exploring what might fit a student's strengths and interests is a key part of what we do: we offer a variety of resources to help students truly find their path -- not just in college but in their future professional lives. We are certified to deliver multiple Strength and Interest assessments that can provide fantastic insight into potential career paths, majors, and even the right college environment for each unique individual.
College List Building
The college process begins with a thoughtful list. We'll help you find the hidden gems you might not have thought of that provide the experience you're looking for and/or the scholarships you might not have found on your own. We will strategize with you to decide where to apply Early Decision, Early Action, or in the Regular Decision round and help you stay on top of all the deadlines for athletic recruitment, auditions, honors programs, and merit aid. Finally, we'll help you balance your list in terms of both admissions odds and finances so that you end up with choices you're thrilled with at the end of the process.
Applications
It all comes together in the application itself, so we help you make sure all the i's are dotted and all the t's are crossed. We'll help you keep track of deadlines and requirements, communicate effectively with admissions reps, and create a polished application package that showcases your unique individuality.
Essays
How do you make your essay stand out? From finding the right topic to polishing the final draft, we help students craft memorable essays that they can be proud of because they speak to the heart of who the student is, what they care about, and what makes them special.
Resume Building
You've worked hard at all your activities throughout your time in high school: now it's time to show them off! We provide easy to use templates (including one for UT-Austin's unique Extended Resume, as well as specialty formats for athletes, performers, and more) to help you create a professional resume that highlights your most impressive achievements and activities.
Interview Prep
Interviews can be nerve-wracking, but we've got lots of tips: what to wear, what to bring, how to prepare for typical questions, and how to write a great follow-up email.
Decision Help and Waitlist Advising
When all your decisions are in, there will be choices to make. We can help you decide which schools are worth a visit and provide insight on fit and school culture at all of your admitted schools. We'll help you analyze your financial aid award letters to be sure you understand what's being offered, what you need to do to keep it for each year, and what your financial outlay will be at each school. We can also help you take your best shot at getting off any waitlists you want to pursue.
